Tweetsie Railroad

Had a blast with the Cook family in the mountains at Tweetsie Railroad! Our kids have grown up together...I met Kayla when she was 18 months old and now she is 8! I love that our kids get along so well...we had a really good time! Here are some fun pics!

This is the Life!

When you ask Patrick and David what their favorite part about New York was, they will say the limosuine rides and the Volcano at FAO Schwartz! Lawson arranged for a stretch limo to take us to and from the airport, and then when we visited the infamous FAO, we found that they had added an ice cream shop. Well everything they do there is over the top, and the Volcano is a testement to that! Scroll down to see this dessert that required a chisel and hammer to eat it! The volcano was made of hardened chocolate and at its core was the ice cream. It was erupting with whip cream and toppings!

Katie the Paparazzi!

So we went to NY this past weekend for Lawson to run the NY Marathon (see post below!) and what do you know.......Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes and daughter Suri were staying in our hotel! My mom and Bruce, who have an apartment in NY, rode in the elevator with Tom on the way up to see us! When we were on our way to a play, How the Grinch stole Christmas, Tom and Katie were on their way back from the marathon and I snapped a shot of them from behind (I couldn't get past the OTHER paparazzi in front of me!) Here is my feeble attempt at a shot of the Cruises.....I needed my long lens, but oh well...

2:58:05, 667th out of 40,000

I am so proud of my husband!!! He ran the NY Marathon on Sunday in 2:58:05 and placed 667th out of 40,000. Way to go Lawson!

These pics were taken at mile 23! Looking good for 23 miles of running!

Halloween!!

What a fun Halloween! My neighbors, Mo and Wayne, put on a fantastic little Halloween party before trick or treating to make sure we got SOME substenance in the kids before they were overloaded with sugar! Here are a glimpse of some pictures from the evening...we had a little Ninja warrior (David), a storm trooper (Patrick) and a dalmation (Colin). The chicken is Mo & Wayne's little girl Marielle. The little princess is my niece Ella. if you would like to view more pics, you can go to http://www.katiewilliamsphotography.smugmug.com/ and click on "sessions" and then Halloween. Enjoy!

Funny :)

While we were in the mountains last weekend, we stopped by the Candy Barrell at the historic Mast General Store. Colin and David are always bickering (David, surprisingly is the antagonist!) and Colin tries to fight back....here's the moment captured!

Discovering what an RV is!

So our friend Scott calls and, on a whim, wants to come and visit from Dallas and explore potential business in NC. So we wonder how he is going to get a flight so soon, and he says, no problem, I'll drive out in my RV! Well 2 days later he arrived, and my kids were thrilled! We had a blast going over to our cousins' house, Will, Olivia, and Ella, who also marvelled at the new site. The best feature was the horn, which played "La Cuca-racha" whenever you blew it. Scott will forever be known to my kids as the man with the RV! Thanks for coming to NC Scott!

Couldn't Resist :)

This cracks me up! I totally did not teach him to do this, but this is how he insists on sitting on the potty! He would kill me if he were old enough to know i posted this pic! Colin has by far been my hardest to potty train....and so we press on!

Our New Friend....

As most of you know, but many don't, there is a new "member" of the Williams family. Her name is Hser (pronounced "sir"). Mike (Lawson's dad) has been volunteering in Thailand for the past couple of years in a Burmese refugee camp. If I try to give the history, I will botch it all up, but Hser is from the Karen sect of Burmese people. Mike met her and instantly discovered her drive and determination to learn and help her people. She was very eager to come to America and study, and well, now, after a long process and with Mike and Jerry's help, she has arrived! She is living with Mike and Jerry in Henderson and "visits" Jen, Rudi, Lawson and me and the kids in Wake Forest on the weekends. Mike is trying to figure out her schooling options right now. Anyway, she came to Colin's birthday party and had a lot of fun. Welcome to America, Hser!!! We are glad you are here!
